Stewards of Local Community
In the words of hymn #715 Christ, Be Our Light, we are reminded about the needs of people throughout our community and world. We thank the people of Saron who work in so many ways to be a local beacon of light helping those in need. God’s work, our hands.
Longing for food, many are hungry.
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others, Shared until all are fed.
Longing for shelter, many are homeless.
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building, sheltering others, Walls made of living stone.
Many the gifts, many the people, Many the hearts yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another, Signs of your kingdom come.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Saron is a congregation that gives generously through our work at the Soup Kitchen, giving to the CROP walk, supporting the ELCA Good Gifts with our purchases of bees, chicks, pigs and goats, gifts to Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Disaster Response, the Readiness Center, and the list goes on as we give to our neighbors both near and far. God’s work, our hands.
